Vacuum Coating UV Curing Chamber

Definition & Positioning

The Vacuum Coating UV Curing Chamber is a critical UV curing station located immediately after the PVD vacuum coating chamber. It performs second-level UV curing for primer, middle coat, and topcoat, without participating in the physical vapor deposition process itself.

Working Principle

Utilizing 365/395 nm mercury lamps or UV-LED light sources, photoinitiators absorb UV photons to generate free radicals, enabling the instantaneous cross-linking of acrylic coatings into a solid film. With a typical energy range of 500–2000 mJ/cm², the system allows precise matching of conveyor speed and light intensity for optimal curing.

Structural Composition

The unit features a stainless steel/aluminum alloy chamber with high-reflectivity mirrors, a UV lamp array (air/water-cooled), mesh belt or roller conveyors, an integrated heat exhaust and workpiece cooling section, and a PLC-controlled power regulation system with safety door interlocks.

Core Advantages

It replaces traditional lengthy baking ovens with low-temperature curing that prevents plastic deformation. The resulting film offers high hardness, scratch resistance, and alcohol resistance, effectively sealing the PVD metal layer against oxidation while maintaining ultra-low VOC emissions for strict environmental compliance.

Typical Applications

Ideal for metallized plastic components including mobile phone/laptop housings, automotive lamp bezels, cosmetic caps, eyeglass frames, bathroom hardware, and appliance trim.

Why Choose GeeTech?

  • Integrated Production Line Solutions: Based in Chashan, Dongguan, GeeTech specializes in robotic painting integration and UV vacuum coating automation. We deliver modular lines covering "dust removal → spraying → UV curing → PVD coating → topcoat curing," ensuring higher yield rates through seamless station integration.
  • Full-Speed Simulation Prior to Delivery: Within our 4,000㎡ facility, every line undergoes full-speed mass production simulation. This eliminates the need for major on-site adjustments, saving installation time and reducing trial-production scrap costs.
  • Targeted UV Chamber Design: Lamp layouts are calibrated for specific workpiece contours to ensure ±10% uniformity. Options for mercury/UV-LED hybrid configurations allow stable curing for dark paints and thin films (10–30 μm).
  • IoT Lifetime Support: Equipped with real-time operational monitoring and fault alerts, our equipment provides lifetime health tracking—moving beyond the "sell and forget" model to minimize downtime risks.
  • Proven Industry Track Record: With nearly 10 years of expertise, GeeTech has successfully deployed nearly 80 production lines for 40+ clients in cosmetics, automotive, 3C electronics, and premium packaging. Quick recipe changes allow production line flexibility without stopping the line.
